The Future Talent Development Center SWXR Campus Operates an On-Campus Practicum Program in Collaboration with AI and Digital Industry Partners at Busan National University of Education

The Future Talent Development Center SWXR Campus, operated by Samwoo Immersion, conducted an AI and digital industryโlinked on-campus practicum program on January 19 (Mon) at the KREON EdTech Demonstration Classroom of Busan National University of Education.
Designed as a field-oriented practical training program for pre-service teachers, the program enabled participants to directly experience the real-world applicability of emerging educational technologiesโranging from the latest Reality Tech trends and AI-based assessment systems to hands-on XR content experiences.
The practicum ran from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and was distinguished by its experiential, practice-based format. Rather than stopping at technology explanations, the program allowed participants to experience and evaluate educational technologies from both teacher and learner perspectives.
The first session featured a theoretical lecture on the latest trends in Reality Tech and their potential applications in education. Against the backdrop of rapidly evolving technologies such as XR, AI, and MR, the session explored how education is expanding in new directions, supported by real-world case studies directly connected to school environments.
During the subsequent Q&A session, pre-service teachers raised practical and career-oriented questions. One notable question asked whether it was possible to pursue careers in companies like Samwoo Immersion rather than traditional teaching roles. In response, speakers explained that entry into the industry is possible regardless of academic major, provided candidates build role-focused portfolios in areas such as planning, development, and content creation. This discussion generated strong interest among participants.

In the second session, participants engaged in hands-on AI-based learning and assessment practice using OWLIX AI, Samwoo Immersionโs AI-powered learning analytics solution. By experiencing both teacher and student roles, participants were able to directly simulate AI-supported instructional workflows in real classroom scenarios.
In particular, the LLM-based automatic grading feature for descriptive responses in the teacher environment attracted significant attention. As grading is conducted based on learning materials, the system enables both consistency and efficiency in evaluation. Pre-service teachers responded that it was โa tool that can realistically reduce the burden of assessment.โ
From the student perspective, participants were observed responding more actively to questions in an effort to improve their scores, demonstrating how AI-based assessment can naturally increase learner engagement. In addition, as a web-based platform, OWLIX AI operates stably on both PCs and tablets, showing high potential for flexible application across diverse classroom environments.

The final session featured an XR content experience program. Participants explored XR technologies through content delivered to Busan National University of Education, including VR content simulating the role of a pharmaceutical researcher and MR content covering the eight major semiconductor manufacturing processes. This allowed them to directly compare and understand the differences between XR modalities.
The experience was further expanded to include XR content for tidal flat safety accident response, MR semiconductor content related to secondary battery industries, and VR-based CPR training content. When asked if they wished to participate in additional experiences, most participants raised their hands, expressing strong enthusiasm, and the atmosphere grew increasingly energetic as the session progressed.
During the closing remarks, participants applauded one another and shared comments such as โIt was very informative,โ reflecting a high level of overall satisfaction. The program clearly demonstrated that this hands-on practicumโgoing beyond simple technology demonstrations to encompass teacher, student, and industry perspectivesโprovided a meaningful and valuable experience for pre-service teachers.
A representative from SWXR Campus stated, โIt is important for pre-service teachers to view technology not as something they must simply learn, but as a tool for designing lessons.โ They added, โWe plan to continue providing AI- and XR-based practicum programs linked to teacher training curricula, offering technology experiences that can be immediately applied in real educational settings.โ
