Limited Tours Due to Security · Lack of Access to Advanced Equipment · Limited Practical Training Resources · Unequal Access to Hands-On Experience
Semiconductors are an essential core technology in modern society, but their manufacturing process is highly complex and takes place in environments that require stringent security. In particular, cleanrooms (production lines) must maintain extremely high levels of cleanliness, and external access is strictly limited. As a result, it is very difficult for students majoring in the field or job seekers to visit the sites or gain hands-on practice. Furthermore, the limited resources for practical training make it challenging to provide both qualitative and quantitative balance in experiential education. In these circumstances, it is urgent to develop new educational methods and experiential opportunities that enhance students’ practical sense through various approaches to overcome the limitations of direct on-site experience.
IMXR® Semiconductor Facility Experience VR Content is designed to provide a realistic, indirect experience of semiconductor manufacturing facilities, and was created to offer practical understanding and career exploration guidance to students interested in related industries.
1. Semiconductor Cleanroom Tour Experience
Improve adaptability to industrial sites through direct visual and spatial experience
2. Safe Training Environment
Verified training environment with no risk of safety accidents or financial loss
3. Increased Practical Understanding
Increased theoretical understanding of process flow and equipment operation principles
IMXR® Semiconductor Facility Experience VR Content implements a virtual semiconductor cleanroom, allowing users to enter the facility, change into cleanroom suits, experience the air shower, and learn about the equipment. After equipment training, users exit by retracing the original entry route, returning to the smock room to remove their protective gear and finish the cleanroom experience.
1. Smock Room
This is the area where you change from regular clothes to cleanroom suits before entering the semiconductor production facility. You can check each step of wearing protective gear in sequence. Through this process, users can intuitively understand the importance and order of wearing protective gear.
1) Hand Sanitization
2) Wear Antistatic Gloves
3) Wear Antistatic Mask
4) Wear Antistatic Cap
5) Wear Cleanroom Suit
6) Wear Antistatic Shoes
7) Fill in Entry Log
2. Air Shower Room
This is an area for removing remaining dust or foreign matter after putting on cleanroom suits. Users are guided to enter the air shower room and rotate their bodies to remove dust particles.
1) Enter Air Shower Room
2) Undergo Air Shower
3. Clean Room
This is the core area of semiconductor manufacturing where ultra-fine processes take place, and is a special facility designed to maintain extremely high cleanliness and environmental control so that external contaminants do not affect products. After completing the air shower, users enter the cleanroom, observe and learn about the equipment, and then move to the yellow room for additional equipment training.

Specialized Technologies of IMXR® Semiconductor Facility Experience VR Content
Systematic design based on procedural scenarios naturally guides user actions and provides an immersive experience. This technology ensures both consistency and scalability through our proprietary standardized process. In addition, based on a variety of modeling and process information accumulated through semiconductor job training content, we were able to create highly reliable, high-quality content.
Main Features
1. Implementation of Procedural Scenario
By structuring the scenario in a step-by-step manner for cleanroom entry, users can efficiently learn the process. The content is designed for sequential learning: Smock Room → Air Shower Room → Clean Room.
2. Immersive Experience
Based on IX (Immersion eXperience, Samwoo Immersion's unique immersion technology), we create an environment similar to actual semiconductor production facilities, making users feel as if they are actually there. The structure and layout are modeled after real cleanroom labs, including details such as ceilings, floors, workwear, and antistatic items to maximize realism and immersion.
By applying our proprietary standardized framework (IMBuilder-B) for procedural training, we provide interactive experiences similar to in-person tours through XR-based user-centered UI·UX design. Explanation via narration and subtitles helps users better understand the facility.
