Introducing an immersive content experience where users directly operate a key piece of equipment, the reach stacker, to load and unload containers in the yard zone of a smart port terminal. Set against a realistic port environment rendered with high-quality 3D modeling, users can experience authentic control through the use of joysticks for boom operation, gear levers, and steering wheels.
Through an interface similar to actual equipment controls, users can understand the role of the reach stacker within the automated and intelligent logistics flow of a smart port. Additionally, virtual test driving allows effective improvement of driving skills and equipment proficiency.

In smart ports, the reach stacker, a key piece of equipment, not only has limited opportunities for hands-on operation experience, but due to its high cost, repeated practice during training is also difficult. Additionally, access to smart ports is restricted for the general public, and even when visiting actual work sites, it is practically impossible to directly observe or experience the operation of complex equipment.
Especially, operational knowledge of automated port equipment varies depending on the user’s skill level, and there is currently no standardized training system for this. Against this backdrop, there has been a growing need for content that allows direct experience of driving a reach stacker in a safe and realistic virtual environment, with the capability for level-based learning.

The IMXR Smart Port Reach Stacker Operation VR content was developed to overcome these educational limitations.
Users can directly operate the reach stacker in a virtual environment, naturally acquiring equipment operation skills through repeated practice. By choosing and completing either loading or unloading missions, users can systematically practice the actual work procedures required on-site and develop practical skills.
Additionally, the smart port yard zone—which is difficult to access in reality—is recreated in 3D, allowing for more detailed indirect tours and in-depth exploration than what is possible in the real environment.
