Real-Time Collision Risk Monitoring for Marine Construction Sites

Marine Construction Safety Monitoring Digital Twin System

The Smart Marine Construction Safety Monitoring Digital Twin System is built to help prevent collisions between construction vessels and passing vessels near marine construction sites. It receives AIS, radar, and CCTV field data, then overlays vessel information, construction zones, and nautical chart data onto CCTV video through AR-based visualization so operators can quickly understand risk conditions on site.

Key Features

Marine Construction Safety Monitoring Digital Twin System

By connecting field video, vessel positioning data, collision risk analysis, and automated vessel recognition, the system enables operators to monitor work status and risk factors across marine construction zones in an integrated view.

01

AR Service System

Vessel information, construction zones, and nautical chart data are overlaid on CCTV footage from the marine construction site, allowing operators to monitor real-time field conditions. Radar-based positioning data can also be combined so multiple data types can be reviewed on one screen.

02

Vessel Collision Prediction System

This AI-based system applies vessel collision detection and avoidance algorithms to identify and assess collision risks involving fishing boats and small coastal vessels. It is based on a navigation risk assessment model that combines a collision risk evaluation formula with dynamic ship domains.

Deep Learning Vessel Recognition

Vessels captured in CCTV footage are detected through deep learning and camera calibration, then displayed with AIS-based vessel type classification. Expanded image training data improves the accuracy of the vessel classification AI model.

Components

Marine Construction Safety Monitoring Digital Twin System

CCTV cameras, AIS antennas, AIS receivers, and related field devices collect vessel position and video data around the marine construction zone. The collected data is transmitted to the control room through network equipment, where operators use AR mapping, collision prediction, and deep-learning vessel recognition systems to understand site conditions.

Field data collection equipment

Field Data Collection

CCTV cameras, AIS antennas, AIS receivers, and radar collect position and video data for construction vessels and passing vessels.

Control data integration system

Control Data Integration

Field data is connected through network equipment and an AIS data integration system so it can be used in the control room.

Safety Monitoring Service

Safety Monitoring Service

AR-based video overlays, collision risk detection, track recording, and work-zone management support safer marine construction.

Expected Benefits

Project Overview

The Marine Construction Safety Monitoring Digital Twin System is a safety control system that connects position and video data from construction vessels and passing vessels so operators can monitor risk conditions across marine construction zones in real time.

The system collects information on construction vessels and passing vessels around the target marine construction area, linking CCTV footage with AIS and radar-based positioning data for control-room monitoring.

During daytime operations, CCTV-based position information is used, while radar and other field equipment help support night monitoring, improving safety across marine work zones.
