Samwoo Immersion, Korea Coast Guard Academy and Future Marine Safety Training System Advanced Proposal Successfully Concluded
Since 2018, Samwoo Immersion has been working with the Yeosu Korea Coast Guard Academy to build immersive content and systems in the field of marine safety education, and has been recognized for its consistent performance and stable maintenance capabilities. In addition, by building immersive training content and experience spaces, we are suggesting the effectiveness and expandability of marine safety training. Beyond simply providing content, Samwoo Immersion has been conducting continuous technology diagnosis and advancement to create a more efficient training environment based on a deep understanding of field equipment and systems.
As a result of building trust through collaboration over the years, In 2024, we were tasked with conducting a detailed diagnosis and performance improvement plan for 15 training sites in the Yeosu Korea Coast Guard Academy, and successfully completed the project that included educational planning and technical diagnosis over the course of five months.
In this task, we diagnosed the aging problem of practical training equipment based on VR, AR, MR, and XR technologies that fit the latest trends and suggested a direction for transition to a future-oriented practice environment.In particular, this result will be reflected as a mid- to long-term budget project within the Education Planning Department beyond short-term performance, and will lead to follow-up implementation projects starting in 2025. Through this project, Samwoo Immersion has solidified its position as a technology partner that can design the direction and system advancement of maritime safety training, rather than simply being a content production company.
The virtual rescue training system for marine disaster response training at the Yeosu Korea Coast Guard Academy virtualizes various emergency situations that may occur in industrial and ship sites, providing an immersive environment where trainees can safely and repeatedly train.

The Korea Coast Guard Academy's maritime disaster response training virtual rescue training system provides an environment where trainees can safely and repeatedly learn response training for emergency situations that occur at industrial and ship sites. From VR content that allows for job experience in virtual reality to XR content that allows for hands-on experience training through real models beyond the virtual space, and even game-style maritime safety experience scenario simulations through computer-based training content (CBT), we have implemented a method for responding to various types of emergency situations required for maritime police work so that they can experience them in person without spatial constraints.

Korea Coast Guard Academy Tidal Flat Safety VR Experience Center contributes to the spread of safe tidal flat experience culture by promoting maritime safety awareness through tidal flat safety experience education. It is aimed at all age groups who wish to experience tidal flats, related workers, etc., and provides a higher sense of immersion through visual, auditory, and tactile senses, so that it can be expected to improve tidal flat accident prevention and crisis response capabilities. It supports experiential training that goes beyond theory by reflecting conditions similar to reality, such as night and weather changes.
