Korea Polytechnic University Seoul Jeong-su Campus Dream Workshop XR Experience (Public Safety and Elevator) Content Purchase

Application case

Project Name: [Dream Workshop] XR Experience (Public Safety and Elevator) Content Purchase

Project Duration: December 11, 2024 – December 24, 2024

Korea Polytechnic University Seoul Jeong-su Campus, Dream Workshop XR Experience (Public Safety and Elevator) Content Purchase

Samwoo Immersion has established the "Dream Workshop", an XR-based (Extended Reality) safety and career experience space, at Korea Polytechnic University Seoul Jeong-su Campus.

This space is designed to provide immersive experiences of various safety scenarios and virtual job simulations, maximizing learning effectiveness and enhancing practical field response capabilities. In addition, it offers a creative and innovative educational environment for young people and local residents, supporting various hands-on activities and technical training using XR technology.

Equipped with state-of-the-art XR devices, this space presents a future-oriented educational model that fosters growth for both the local community and the campus. It sets a new standard for safety education and career experiences through virtual reality technology.

Content Composition

This project provides a PC-based CBT educational program for elevator component disassembly and assembly, as well as life safety CBT education.

Through the elevator CBT, users can learn scenarios for three types of systems—rope-type elevators, hydraulic elevators, and escalators—while managing programs and operational equipment via a learning management system.

The marine safety CBT employs familiar simulation game methods to enhance awareness of accident prevention and develop appropriate response skills in hazardous situations.

Elevator CBT

1) Rope-Type Elevator

Provides training on replacing internal and external components of a rope-type elevator with a hotel lobby as the background.

  • Replacing the landing door

  • Replacing the drive unit and main rope

  • Replacing the overspeed governor rope

Maritime Safety CBT

A person fell into the water! It stings! Avoid jellyfish!

Fast and accurate! Throw a life ring with a drone!Close! Escaping the ice sheet during the thaw!

Let's get out of the valley!

Slippery! Recovering spilled oil!

I'm swept away! Scary rip current!

Emergency dispatch!
We're going to pick a person who's isolated on a rock
Get out of here!

Let's go! Clean up the ocean!Blurry~ Voyage in the fog!

Learning Management System

A solution capable of simultaneously training and controlling over 20 devices, where the instructor's PC can manage and control the trainee PCs' operating environments within the training control solution.

1) Remote Power Management

2) Remote Execution and Termination of CBT Training Programs

3) Network-Based Group Configuration

4) Monitoring

- Overall Monitoring

- Selective Monitoring of Individual Trainees

Expected Effects and Future Plans

Through the establishment of this XR-based experiential content, learners will be able to receive elevator maintenance and safety education in a more immersive environment. This will enable hands-on learning and improve their ability to respond to hazardous situations.

In the future, we plan to continuously improve the content by analyzing its educational effectiveness and develop additional XR-based vocational and safety training programs to expand its application. Through these efforts, we expect to further enhance practical vocational and safety education.
