KOMSA Emergency Escape and Rope Impact Accident MR Content
The training consists of two experiential scenarios designed around core situations: ship emergency response and fishing vessel operation safety management. This MR-based experiential training helps users understand the process and causes of accidents through realistic environments and naturally learn correct procedures and safety rules. The version for workers is designed to help them understand and practice safety obligations under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and safety conduct standards for sailors. The children's version uses mission-based interactions and escape scenarios to teach IMO symbols and life jacket usage in an engaging way. This immersive education using MR/VR technology goes beyond theory to provide practical experience for real-world response.

In 2026, they are expanding the educational environment through the Mobile Maritime Safety Experience Facility project, allowing the public to experience safety training more easily and directly.
As part of this policy, MR/VR safety content has been built to simulate real ship environments. Starting in an MR (Mixed Reality) environment where a virtual ship appears in the real world, it transitions into a VR environment mimicking a ship's interior. Participants can directly experience and learn action plans and equipment usage necessary during a ship accident.


Furthermore, it is based on real accident cases, such as rope recoil accidents during anchor operations. This helps workers understand the importance of safety rules and correct procedures through experience. Through this, participants can naturally acquire safety response capabilities that go beyond simple theory.

Experiential MR/VR Content Educating Ship Workers on Safety Laws and Disaster Prevention
In fishing vessels, impact accidents caused by rope recoil frequently occur due to high tension and heavy equipment during anchor rope operations. Specifically, accidents resulting in serious injury have occurred when safety rules were ignored, such as lack of safety zones, not wearing protective gear, or improper instructions from the captain.
Through MR-based content, users experience the process and cause of accidents in environments similar to real work sites. It is designed to help users learn correct procedures and follow safety standards under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Fishery Safety and Management Act.

Starting in an MR environment where a virtual fishing boat appears in the real world, this training supports Korean, English, Indonesian, and Vietnamese. Participants observe the deck and bridge from various angles, experience rope tension accidents in a VR sea environment, and learn prevention methods by wearing life jackets and helmets. The scenario ends with a quiz to verify the learning outcomes.

Starting in an MR environment with a virtual ferry, it transitions to a VR environment similar to a real ship interior, allowing users to learn action protocols and safety equipment usage through immersive simulation.

This ship emergency escape content starts in MR and supports 4 languages. Participants experience a ship tilting in an emergency, search for IMO safety symbols, and check life jackets, muster stations, and life rafts. They then perform evacuation steps like sliding down escape chutes and boarding rafts. The scenario concludes with an MR quiz to reinforce key safety knowledge.

The HMD devices are linked to an instructor system on a laptop for power and content control. Evaluation data is automatically saved as CSV files for future reporting. Data includes date, time, experience duration, and correct answers to organize participant results.

Developed for both Meta Quest 3 HMDs and tablets. This allows participation in environments without HMD hardware, providing an intuitive UX/UI optimized for tablet interaction.
