PROJECT GOAL
| In collaboration with the Elevator Talent Development Institute of the Korea Elevator Safety Agency, we have established an 'Emergency Rescue Operation XR Lecture' infrastructure to strengthen the safe passenger rescue capabilities of workers during elevator failures and emergencies. The purpose of this project is to overcome the high costs and safety constraints of actual elevator equipment operation and to provide a practical training environment where rescuers, such as firefighters or managers, can respond calmly even in solo rescue activities. This immersive educational content perfectly reproduces the characteristics of control panels from major domestic manufacturers (Hyundai, Otis, TK). It is designed to allow systematic practice of the entire process, from power cutoff to step adjustment (leveling), door opening, and passenger rescue. By doing so, it supplements the limitations of theory-based education and contributes to fostering elevator safety experts by providing a virtual environment that allows for repetitive learning. |

In the past, the best we could do was have students memorize thick manuals, but now, they wear XR devices and stand in front of actual control panels. Seeing them learn through the process of physically flipping switches in a virtual environment gave me confidence as an educator. Although the background may appear in black and white depending on the device specs, the core interactions are clearly conveyed, so there is no hindrance to the essence of education.

1-1 Operation Location
The work is performed through the 'Simplified Operation Panel' located inside after opening the external call button cover.
1-2 Manual Transition
Change the transition switch to Emergency (E-INS) mode to secure manual control status.
1-3 Height Adjustment
The elevator height is adjusted by repeatedly pressing the BRAKE RELEASE button without maintaining a separate key.
02. OTIS Control Panel
1-1 Manual Transition
Includes a procedure to transition the system to a manual operation state by turning the ERO switch before operation.
1-2 Power Cutoff
The power is cut off by operating the Overcurrent Circuit Breaker (OCB) after first removing the lower protective cover.
1-3 Height Adjustment
Practice a dual operation method of inserting and maintaining a dedicated key in a specific hole (BRB2) while operating the brake release switch (BRB1).
03. TK Control Panel
1-1 Operation Location
The practice is conducted at the main control panel located next to the landing door.
1-2 Power Cutoff
Safety is secured by lowering the circuit breaker switch to cut off main power and lighting.
1-3 Height Adjustment
The height of the elevator car is matched by repeatedly operating the discharge (Release) switch while maintaining the brake charge (Power On) switch pressed.

Distinctive actions of each company were reproduced, such as the insertion and maintenance of Otis's dedicated key, the removal of Hyundai's simplified operation panel board, and the mixed operation of TK's brake charge/discharge switches.
