Kyungpook National University Secondary Battery Pouch Cell Manufacturing Process MR Content Development and Advancement
Beyond Coin Cells to Pouch Cells, Expanding the Scope of Secondary Battery Practical Training

| PROJECT | IMXR® Secondary Battery Pouch Cell Manufacturing Process MR Content
|
PROJECT GOAL
| Based on its previous experience in developing MR content for the coin cell manufacturing process, Kyungpook National University has promoted the advancement of MR content for the pouch cell manufacturing process to enhance the completeness of secondary battery manufacturing process education. The scope of education was expanded so that students could more broadly understand the secondary battery manufacturing process and learn in an environment similar to an actual production site, aiming to further strengthen the practice-oriented education system. |

|
"By expanding the educational scope to include the pouch cell manufacturing process, we have been able to further improve students' job understanding and on-site practical capabilities."
 | |
Through the development of the IMXR® Secondary Battery Pouch Cell Manufacturing Process MR Content, practical training safety was secured, and a practice-oriented learning environment was established.
| Through the Learning Management System (Instructor), an environment capable of simultaneous playback, control, and screen mirroring of multiple devices was built.
|
Overview
Expanding students' on-site-focused learning opportunities through the development of MR content for the pouch cell manufacturing process, and contributing to the creation of an educational environment to strengthen employment competitiveness in the secondary battery industry.
Immersion Strategy
SAMOO IMMERSION has further expanded the secondary battery manufacturing process education system by additionally developing the pouch cell manufacturing process following the existing coin cell manufacturing process MR content. Students can compare the manufacturing methods of coin cells and pouch cells to understand the characteristics and differences of each process, and more systematically learn the production processes utilized in actual industrial sites. In particular, it is designed to enable repetitive and self-directed learning through a practice environment utilizing MR technology, effectively strengthening on-site adaptability and practical capabilities.
IMXR® Secondary Battery Pouch Cell Manufacturing Process MR Content Structure
It was structured to expand upon the existing coin cell manufacturing process education to allow learning of the core processes required for pouch cell production. Students can systematically learn the process flow and core operational procedures by performing the pouch cell manufacturing process used in actual industrial sites step by step.
 | |
01. Electrode Material Synthesis
| 02. Electrode Manufacturing |
Learn the slurry manufacturing process using a ball milling system and mix tank.
| Learn slurry coating and uniform pressing methods, and understand operating precautions and quality conditions.
|
 | |
03. Pouch Cell Manufacturing
| 04. Pouch Cell Sealing and Testing |
Perform electrode assembly, separator stacking, and electrolyte injection processes to learn the pouch cell assembly procedure and process flow.
| Perform cell sealing and charge/discharge testing to learn final quality verification procedures and battery performance evaluation methods.

IXMR® Secondary Battery Job Training MR Content Specialized Technology
Key Features
SAMOO IMMERSION's pouch cell manufacturing process content utilizing MR technology is designed by implementing manufacturing equipment and work environments of actual industrial sites with high-resolution modeling, allowing trainees to learn the manufacturing process in a realistic environment. By experiencing the entire pouch cell production process step-by-step—from electrode manufacturing to cell assembly, sealing, and testing—users can improve their job understanding and practical capabilities.
By applying Passthrough-based MR environments and SLAM technology, it provides interactions similar to actual equipment, and is structured to enhance understanding of the overall process through narration, subtitles, and theoretical explanations. It can also be utilized in connection with existing coin cell manufacturing process content, and can efficiently respond to the continuous expansion of the education system through the addition of new processes and equipment in the future.

Produced to enable step-by-step learning for all experiential content
| Provides real-time feedback and interactions to assist smooth experience execution | Implementation of realistic objects and environments created based on real-world examples |
H/W Solution
Kyungpook National University is utilizing SAMOO IMMERSION's IXMR® secondary battery job training MR content for practical education using Meta Quest 3.
Meta Quest 3 is a standalone VR system that eliminates spatial constraints by allowing free learning without the need for additional equipment. Students can experience job training MR content anytime, anywhere, and training utilizing this device, already familiar as a gaming gadget, stimulates students' curiosity and elicits positive responses, helping them achieve the goal of acquiring job skills through preemptive practical experience and repeated performance.
SAMWOO IMMERSION increases learners' immersion and participation through MR-based practical education and provides an educational environment where theory and practice are organically connected. By repeatedly experiencing the pouch cell manufacturing process that reflects actual industrial sites, students can effectively improve their process understanding and job competencies.
Furthermore, by minimizing the constraints of physical practice space and equipment, more learners can be provided with equal educational opportunities, and self-directed learning and collaboration-based learning can be realized simultaneously. Instructors can check learners' practice progress and learning achievements, enabling more efficient educational management.
The IXMR® secondary battery job training MR content can be utilized in conjunction with the existing coin cell manufacturing process, and is designed in a structure that allows the addition of new equipment and manufacturing processes in the future, enabling responses to the continuous expansion and advancement of the educational system.
SAMWOO IMMERSION is contributing to the establishment of an environment for nurturing future talents needed by educational institutions and industrial sites through digital innovation in practice-oriented job training.
