SWXR Campus contributes to XR and Metaverse talent development through hands-on projects and global learning experiences
SWXR Campus, operated by Samwoo Immersion, successfully completed the “Unreal Engine-Based VR Content Creation Course,” held from August 1 to 28. This program is part of the “XR-Based Metaverse Workforce Development” initiative led by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency overseeing the program and SWXR Campus managing its operation as a public–private collaborative talent development project.
The course consisted of 10 sessions, covering everything from Unreal Engine fundamentals to interaction implementation, UI design, and VR project production, structured as a hands-on curriculum that allowed participants to build skills progressively. Notably, sessions 8 and 10 focused on project-based practice, where participants created VR content reflecting Busan-specific industries, such as the Busan Port container sector, as well as their individual interests. Through these practical exercises, learners overcame their initial apprehension toward Unreal Engine, turning it into curiosity and confidence while gaining valuable real-world experience.

The course was delivered directly by a certified Unreal Instructor (UAI), and all participants who completed the full program received a certificate issued under the name of an Unreal Authorized Training Center (UATC). This enabled participants not only to gain hands-on project experience but also to secure a credible certification, thereby enhancing their professional credentials.

Above all, the participant satisfaction survey showed outstanding results, with an average score of over 95 out of 100 across all sessions, demonstrating the excellence of the program. Participants commented, “Completing the projects gave me a sense of accomplishment and increased my interest in Unreal Engine,” “I was able to solidify my understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprints,” and “If given another opportunity, I would like to join an advanced course as well.”

In particular, the highlight of the program was the 9th session, where participants attended Unreal Fest 2025 to experience the latest global technology trends firsthand. Trainees gained valuable insights into industry developments through conference presentations, hands-on experiences with new technologies, and networking with industry experts. Many noted that it provided fresh ideas they could apply directly to their own project work, while also motivating them to grow as XR and Metaverse professionals.
Since being designated as Korea’s first Unreal Engine Authorized Training Center (UATC) in 2024, SWXR Campus has led the way in cultivating practical talent in the XR and Metaverse fields. Moving forward, the campus plans to continue offering industry-tailored projects and globally connected training programs to help participants strengthen skills that can be immediately applied in emerging XR-based industries.
