Selected as โ5G-based digital twin facility safety demonstration projectโ by the Ministry of Science and ICT
The Busan city announced on the 7th that it was selected as the โ2022 5G-based digital twin facility safety demonstration projectโ, a public competition project by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and announced on the 7th that it would invest a total of KRW 2 billion, including KRW 1.6 billion from the government, to manage the Jagalchi market.
The โ5G-based digital twin facility safety demonstration projectโ, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and supported by the Information and National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), is a project that demonstrates the safety management of public facilities owned by the government and local governments using 5G-based digital twin technology. Business.
The city formed a consortium of only Busan local companies and institutions, such as Samwoo Immersion Co., Ltd., Neotech Co., Ltd., and Busan Facilities Corporation, centered on the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. It has succeeded in securing 16 billion won in national budget.
The task promoted by this open call project is โDevelopment and demonstration of an integrated safety monitoring platform for Jagalchi market through 5G/digital twin-based new technology convergence and distributed data managementโ, and a total of 2 billion won will be invested by the end of the year.
There are four detailed tasks: 5G-based seawater water and air quality measurement and analysis service, fire response simulation, 3D digital twin modeling, and real-time integrated control service.
Looking at the main contents, the 5G-based seawater water and air quality measurement and analysis service automatically manages and controls water intake and air conditioning systems by collecting seawater and air pollution levels flowing into the Jagalchi market in real time with an Internet of Things (IoT) terminal and analyzing big data. Fire response simulation provides an optimal escape route using artificial intelligence algorithms in case of fire, and ensures compatibility with international standard 3D modeling and data construction.

Jun-seung Lee, head of the Digital Economy Innovation Office, said, โWe expect that the Jagalchi market will help revitalize the local economy by attracting more visitors while preventing major disasters and disasters caused by the aging of the Jagalchi market with a large floating population.โ
