Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) join hands with a game company to develop a VR flight training system.

KAI announced yesterday (2nd) that it signed an MOU with Epic Games Korea for technical cooperation to develop a VR-type flight training system.

Through this agreement, KAI plans to develop a KF-21 Korean fighter VR flight training simulator using Epic Games' 'Unreal Engine 5'. Epic Games' Unreal Engine is used not only for games, but also for creating virtual worlds such as architecture, movies, and automobiles.

The VR-type flight simulator developed by KAI is a training system that provides a hands-on piloting environment prior to conventional large-scale flight simulator training. Large-scale joint training is possible, and operation and maintenance costs are low, so training costs are expected to be reduced.
