Busan TP, Leading Marine ICT Innovation… Busan Regional Innovation Cluster Performance Announcement

Busan Techno Park (Busan TP) announced that on the 23rd, it held a performance exchange meeting at Haeundae Shilla Stay with Busan City and Busan Regional Industry Promotion Agency to review the results of the 2024 'Regional Innovation Cluster Promotion Project' and discuss future promotion strategies.
The Regional Innovation Cluster Promotion Project, jointly promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Busan City, is promoting R&D (research and development) and non-R&D (commercialization support, etc.) with the goal of advancing the core technologies of the marine ICT convergence industry, a specialized industry within the regional cluster district. Busan TP, Busan Regional Industry Promotion Agency, Busan Industry-Academia Convergence Center, Korea Maritime & Ocean University , Dongseo University, and Tongmyong University formed a consortium to carry out the project.

Then, at the performance exchange meeting, excellent R&D and non-R&D business cases in the Busan area were presented, and three excellent R&D companies were selected and awarded based on technology development performance, job creation, sales expansion, and contributions to regional development. The companies selected this time are ▲Samwoo Immersion Co., Ltd. ▲DH Controls Co., Ltd. ▲Smart M2M Co., Ltd.

This exchange meeting is evaluated to have analyzed the performance of the linkage between R&D and non-R&D in the Busan region and further specified the business goals for 2025. The Busan Regional Innovation Cluster plans to maximize the performance of the project through continuous monitoring and demand reflection, and based on this, operate a more advanced program in 2025.
Song Joo-ho, head of the Busan City Industrial Policy Division, said, “The regional innovation cluster promotion project is an important policy to foster Busan’s specialized industries into competitive future industries,” and added, “We will strive to create various synergy effects such as linkage with other ministries’ projects so that it can become a representative case of Busan’s industry promotion.”
Kim Hyung-gyun, head of the Busan TP, said, “The 2024 Busan Regional Innovation Cluster Promotion Project has created many results through organic cooperation between R&D and non-R&D projects,” and added, “We will continue to work to activate the regional innovation cluster and create innovative results through a close cooperation system between local governments, innovation organizations, and innovative companies.”
