Korea Maritime University’s industry-academia-research ETRS center signed an ‘business agreement for commercialization of AR/VR-based LNGC job training and expert training center’ with Busan companies KLCSM, Samwoo Immersion, and Lloyd’s Register Asia in the UK on the 23rd. It was recently announced that a contract had been signed.
This agreement was promoted to ultimately produce excellent LNG experts through the development of educational contents for nurturing LNG ship crew members and experts in the field of onshore LNG, establishment of infrastructure for nurturing experts, and operation of specialized LNG training courses.
An official from the Maritime University said, “The demand for LNG marine personnel and onshore experts is also increasing as the use of LNG fuel and the demand for LNG ships are increasing due to the recent global tightening of environmental regulations. The commercialization of the LNG ship expert training center can also be expected,” he said.
