SWXR Campus, a Center for Nurturing Future Talents, Successfully Concludes Tailored AI and Virtual Convergence Technology Competency Enhancement Program for Kosin University Dept. of Early Childhood Education

On May 26, SWXR Campus, operated by Samwoo Immersion, hosted an XR and AI-based technology experience program for students of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Kosin University, showcasing the core of future education. The program, which ran from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, was attended by 23 students from the department. It was designed as a competency enhancement course to help them understand the integration mechanisms of next-generation technologies—XR and AI—and intuitively grasp how to apply them to educational settings. Going beyond a simple hands-on experience, the program was planned as an immersive, on-site initiative, allowing pre-service teachers to firsthand witness how children immerse themselves and learn within virtual spaces, while validating the educational value of virtual convergence technology.

The first session of the program kicked off with an in-depth theoretical lecture exploring the latest trends in virtual convergence technology. Students learned the foundational concepts and developmental history of key terms, including VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality). They shared various case studies demonstrating how these technologies are being applied in real classroom environments and how they are transforming the broader industrial ecosystem. Furthermore, the session delved deeply into the synergistic effects generated when artificial intelligence technology is integrated with XR content.
In particular, the practical hands-on session using the 'OWLIX AI' platform, designed to boost administrative efficiency and practical utility in education, received enthusiastic feedback. By simply uploading a PDF document, students experienced an AI system that automatically generates quizzes and grades them based on a set rubric. This allowed them to intuitively glimpse the future of smart school administration powered by edutech.

The main XR experience featured a two-track content approach tailored to the eye level and major-specific characteristics of the early childhood education students. First, an engagement-focused 'Bakery VR Content' session was conducted to help students conceptualize the virtual learning environments that future young children will encounter. In the practical session where they baked their choice of ciabatta, choux, or chiffon, students demonstrated high levels of immersion in the virtual cooking process. When the bread accidentally burned, some students expressed playful disappointment and eagerly asked if they could try again from the beginning, leading to a consistently lighthearted and passionate atmosphere.
The subsequent 'Semiconductor 8-Core Process Miniature MR Experience' focused on broadening the university students' cross-disciplinary perspectives. Using joysticks, students manipulated and rotated the miniature processes, exploring complex scientific technology as effortlessly and enjoyably as playing a video game. Through this process, students successfully achieved the learning objective of perfectly comparing and understanding the visual distinction between VR—which displays a fully virtual environment—and MR, which overlays virtual elements onto reality.
An official from SWXR Campus stated, "This program focused on empowering students from Kosin University's Department of Early Childhood Education to move beyond being passive consumers of technology, enabling them to proactively design and utilize XR and AI tools in future educational settings." They added, "Moving forward, we will continue our collaboration with various academic departments to expand the horizons of advanced XR and AI technologies and contribute to nurturing adaptable, convergence-minded talents."
