SWXR Campus, a Center for Nurturing Future Talents, Successfully Concludes Tailored XR Tech Training for Samcheok School Principalsโฆ A Forum of Enthusiastic Inquiries from Semiconductor Processes to Mixed Reality

On June 10, SWXR Campus, operated by Samwoo Immersion, hosted an XR-based technology training program for school principals under the Samcheok Office of Education, aimed at driving a paradigm shift in future education. The training, which lasted approximately two hours, was attended by around 30 school principals from the Samcheok region. It was conducted as a tailored competency enhancement program designed to help educational leaders intuitively understand the educational value and advanced industrial applications of next-generation core technologies: VR, MR, and XR. Moving beyond a simple introduction of technology, this program was operated as an immersive, on-site training course, enabling educational administrators responsible for future classrooms to grasp the trends of the fast-changing tech industry and firsthand verify the educational value of virtual convergence technology.
 | |
The first session kicked off with an in-depth theoretical lecture exploring the entirety of virtual convergence technology. The lecture covered the conceptual definitions and technological history of VR, MR, and XR, and specifically addressed how these technologies are currently reshaping the educational and industrial landscapes. In particular, it introduced core implementation cases where advanced VR technology was adopted to overcome real-world constraints such as high costs and high risks, including semiconductor manufacturing processes and high-priced LNGC vessel training. While actual project demonstration videos prepared to enhance visual understanding were shown, the participating principals nodded in unison, displaying the highest level of focus throughout the training.
The recess period that followed the theoretical lecture was filled with the principals' burning interest in the technology. Despite it being a break, they actively asked questions regarding the feasibility of introducing virtual reality technology into actual school classrooms, and even requested to try out the experiences during the break, creating a more proactive and enthusiastic atmosphere than ever before.
 | |
The subsequent hands-on XR experience featured a balanced presentation of diverse, high-tech content. Principals showed great interest as they directly operated the 'Semiconductor 8-Core Process Miniature MR Content,' which they had previously learned about in theory. Experiencing mixed reality technology, where virtual information and effects are precisely overlaid on top of physical miniature equipment, they expressed admiration for the scalability of virtual convergence education, commenting, "It is truly amazing that virtual graphics seamlessly combine while the actual miniature equipment is fully visible right in front of my eyes," and "It is as fun as playing a game, making it absolutely perfect for student immersion." Along with this, they experienced next-generation edutech from multiple angles by engaging with space-utilizing, immersive LBVR content and the latest virtual reality technologies that naturally cross the boundaries between VR and MR.
During the Q&A session that marked the grand finale of the program, sharp and in-depth questions regarding virtual educational content flooded in. The principals shared a deep consensus on the potential of XR technology as a tool for future education, continuing their practical inquiries into the development process, such as, "How is this advanced virtual educational content actually planned and produced?" and "How many developers are deployed in the field to build a single piece of high-quality content?"
An official from SWXR Campus stated, "This training was prepared to help the principals leading the education sector in Samcheok move beyond simply observing technology, and find practical answers on how to integrate and utilize XR as a tool in future educational environments." They added, "Moving forward, we will maintain close communication and cooperation with frontline schools to expand the horizons of advanced XR and AI technologies, taking the lead in establishing an educational infrastructure that nurtures future talents."
