SWXR Campus, a Center for Nurturing Future Talents, Conducts Tailored Training Course for East Surrey College Delegation from the UKโฆ High Praise and Full Immersion in Drone, Power Semiconductor, and XR Education
SWXR Campus, a future talent nurturing center operated by Samwoo Immersion, is aggressively expanding its footprint onto the global stage. From July 3 to 4, SWXR Campus successfully concluded a global new industry technology training program for a delegation of 20 members from East Surrey College in the UK, including 16 university students and 4 faculty members, covering drones (UAV), power semiconductors, and advanced Extended Reality (XR) technologies.
The training program was built upon Samwoo Immersion's advanced edutech solutions and meticulously designed as a one-stop experience, allowing global students to transition smoothly from theoretical mastery and practical application to real-world industrial site tours of core future technologies.
On the morning of July 3, the first day of training, an in-depth theoretical lecture on the concepts and core technologies of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) was conducted at the Korea Institute of Convergence Technology. After mastering drone manipulation through precision simulators, students took the time to execute basic flights using actual mini-drones. The afternoon session featured a high-difficulty mission involving precise obstacle avoidance with the mini-drones. The British students displayed relentless persistence and immense focus, completely immersing themselves in passing the mission while gaining hands-on experience with drone-based point photography and various industry-specific applications. The students demonstrated intense academic enthusiasm, keeping the drones in their hands even during break times and waiting periods.
Following this, the delegation visited Hyowon Powertech, an enterprise specializing in future energy and power semiconductor development, to tour the industrial site. The students' interest erupted during the Q&A session after witnessing the current state of the global power semiconductor market, core application technologies, and live kit demonstrations of strategic devices. Even after the program ended, active cross-border communication took place, with an influx of deep questions regarding global careers and technical expertise, such as "How did you come to work at a Korean tech company?" and "What educational qualifications are required to find employment in these advanced new industry sectors?"
On the second day, the delegation officially visited the headquarters of Samwoo Immersion to study core terminology and global application cases of Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies. The immersive content training session that followed theoretical definition was the absolute highlight of the training. In the VR track, activities kicked off with disaster safety content that vividly demonstrates the overwhelming intensity of typhoons within a virtual space, followed by a career training session to virtually master the duties of a semiconductor engineer, a role drawing significant global attention.
In the subsequent MR track, students engaged in advanced practical exercises, including an MR content module that allows them to vividly inspect the semiconductor 8-core manufacturing process right before their eyes, alongside directly controlling the core processes of secondary battery (battery cell) manufacturingโa national strategic technology. Even after the scheduled program ended, the campus deployed additional aspirin synthesis lab VR content at the request of the students who were thoroughly captivated by the advanced immersive training, drawing explosive satisfaction and interest from the participants.
An official from SWXR Campus emphasized, "Through the tireless passion and sharp questions of the East Surrey College students, we gained firm confidence that Samwoo Immersion's Physical AI, semiconductor, and secondary battery XR content can fully thrive on the global stage." The official added, "Without resting on our laurels after surpassing 5,000 cumulative visitors in the first half of the year, we will continuously expand globally specialized convergence programs so that talents from all over the world can experience and grow within Korea's advanced new industry edutech infrastructure."
